Deploying Routers
As a network engineer, it is essential to properly install a router in your network, to provide communication within the network. Because different Cisco router models have different installation requirements, it is important to read the installation documentation before you start.
Once the router is physically booted up, you must initially connect to it through a console interface and start the configuration process. To ensure that the router is set up correctly, it is extremely important that you are familiar with the initial configuration steps, which are typically similar across different models.
In large enterprise environments, routers are typically spread out in different parts of the campus and usually provide additional functionalities besides routing. However, usually, only one router is enough to provide basic routing in smaller workplaces like a branch and home offices.
